Also called soot trap and FAP. This device catches small soot particles (PM10 and PM2.5) in order to properly dispose it later during a regeneration procedure.

Forced regeneration

Forcing ECU with diagnostic tool or hidden procedure to force DPF regeneration.

Manual emptying

Removing the DPF from the car to clean it manually.

Versions

Dry

ECU changes fuel/air ratio in order to reach higher EGT.

Wet

Uses additive like Eolys to increase exhaust gases temperature and bring down in order to efficient disposal of the gathered soot.
